Quick and Easy Creamy Scrambled Eggs

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

Listen, I don’t have much to say about these eggs except you need to make them now. If you like buttery, luxurious eggs, these easy and creamy scrambled eggs set the perfect base for a solid breakfast. You only need three ingredients that you probably already have in your fridge: eggs, butter, and a little cream. Whatever else comes after is at your discretion!

We Need to Talk About Butter

Typically we add oil or butter to ensure eggs do not stick to the saucepan. This recipe calls for a lot of butter to solve this problem. The other reason for this butter is to add flavorsome richness to these creamy scrambled eggs. First, you crack eggs into the saucepan, then you whisk it. After you whisk it, you throw in slabs of cold butter adding up to half a stick. Putting in a bunch of butter sounds amazing, but be careful with the ratios. Too much butter will make goopy eggs.

The Technique to Making Creamy Scrambled Eggs

The cooking technique is the main factor in achieving buttery, creamy scrambled eggs. When you turn on your fire, immediately turn it to the lowest setting. Do not heat the saucepan by starting with medium or even high heat because it will cook the eggs fast! Keeping a consistent low heat as you patiently stir is key. It sounds easy but you will test your patience. As soon as the eggs start scrambling even a bit, you must turn off the fire and let the residual heat continue gently cooking the eggs. You also add the cream and mix it until the result is a slightly runny and sticky scrambled yellow gold.

Mastering this technique will take some practice, but once you do, you will know what to look for when you cook your eggs on low heat. Over time, you will find yourself having a better understanding of the type of consistency to look for. The residual heat is also a part of your cooking process, so consider it while in action. The heat carryover will continue to cook the eggs, so if your scrambled eggs look runny when you turn off the fire, remind yourself that the heat of the saucepan will continue to cook for you.

    Get Creative With the Add-Ins

After cooking, waiting to do salt and pepper provides you with the ultimate flexibility in leveling up this dish. Experiment with spices and other toppings to see which suits your style. Every creamy scrambled egg dish I created was different from the last! Another way to add ingredients on the plate includes adding more protein like bacon. Continue to build up your plate with a thick slice of bread or even white rice!

You can even make a bigger batch at once, and depending on your eaters, you can make the judgment call on what ingredients can be added based on each person’s preference. I have added truffle oil, chopped tomatoes, and crisped garlic in the past. What never fails for me is a bit of truffle salt or truffle oil. Just a hint adds another type of richness that people keep coming back for more. Give it a try now and find out for yourself why I am so passionate about these creamy scrambled eggs.

These buttery eggs are indeed indulgent, but I want to dare you to try them with a side of spicy cucumber salad. It's one of my guilty-pleasure breakfast pairings and the two dishes together don't disappoint!
